Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
